The Inter-Command Challenge is a relatively new concept. As the name suggests it allows personnel from both Systems Command and Fleet Command to represent their command in various sports including rugby, soccer, netball, running and Australian Rules. RANAFA involvement in ICC has increased over the years with the promotion of a female game as well as the male match.
The Males compete for the Victoria Cup which has also been named the Jamie McGinley Cup, with the player of the game being awarded the Darren Murray Medal.
The Females compete for the ? Cup with the player of the game being awarded the Rohan Jennings Medal.
The Inter-Command Challenge is another lead up event that allows players with varying football abilities an opportunity to represent their command as well as put their hand up for National selection by having a good game.
2005 saw the emergence of SMNMT Joel Minichiello who dominated the ruck and took out the Darren Murray Medal. Check out this link about the 2005 ICC in the March 24 edition of Navy News.

The result of the guys match was reversed with the Systems Command side dominating the under strength Fleet side. The Systems Command side was stacked with RANAFA Nationals players and it was no wonder the final scores were 16.5 (101) to 4.2 (26). LCDR Simon Levy had an outstanding game on the wing and was awarded the Darren Murray Medal.
