2009 ASAFA Carnival
The 2009 ASAFA Carnival was held in Melbourne at the Ted Whitten Oval as part of a 5 year plan. In a shortened preparation period, RANAFA went into camp at CERBERUS before relocating to RAAF Laverton once the games began.

The Girls opened up with a stunning performance against Army kicking their highest score since competition began in 2004.

The 2009 male squad was made up of quite a number of first time RANAFA representatives who combined well with the more seasoned players to take out the carnival and once again regain the Jim Smail Cup.
